BOTULINUM TOXIN

Botulinum Toxin (commonly referred to as Botox) is predominantly used as an anti wrinkle treatment to stop the facial muscles contracting and preventing the skin from folding and creasing (wrinkles/ fine lines). It can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in the arm pit area.

Botox results are not immediate and are not a permanent treatment. The full effects of Botox can be seen at 2 weeks post treatment. You will be given the option to come into clinic for a review and top up if needed (£20 additional charge). The results of the treatment last up to 12 weeks and s further treatment can be booked at 12 weeks to maintain results.

  • Do lip fillers hurt?
    Lip filler injections are relatively painless though this does vary from person to person and their comfort levels with needle injections. A topical numbing cream will be applied before your treatment takes place.
  • How long do lip fillers last?
    Generally speaking lip fillers will last up to 6 months. Again, this can vary from person to person depending on each individuals body natural rate to absorb the product. A top up is advised around 6 months to keep your lips looking fresh and full.
  • What are dermal fillers?
    Dermal fillers are injected beneath the skin’s surface to smooth wrinkles and add volume and contour. It works by drawing in water and therefore augmenting the skin, thus reducing the wrinkle treated. Depending on what type of dermal fillers, results can last between one to two years.
  • How soon can I expect to see results?
    The effects of dermal are noticeable immediately after the procedure. These effects are long lasting, non-permanent and reversible. Some bruising and swelling can be expected within the first 2 weeks of your treatment.
  • What areas can dermal fillers be used for?
    Dermal fillers may be used to replace volume loss and restore the structural support, giving the patient a more youthful appearance. The aim is to make the face more harmonious and rejuvenated. For instance, the lips may be injected to improve their shape, size, symmetry and proportion. The cheeks may be injected to make a face more defined and attractive. An underdeveloped chin may be injected to make it appear more projected and proportionate.
  • Are there any side effects/ downtime?
    Depending on the treatment you choose there is generally no downtime however bruising and swelling is to be expected following any injectable treatment. Most reactions are generally minimal and temporary.
  • What does the procedure entail and is it painful?
    Generally, basic dermal filler procedures require no anaesthetic as the dermal filler contains local anaesthetic. We use very effective numbing cream prior to the procedure for ultimate comfort. It is simple and straight-forward, involving a few tiny injections directly into the skin, and takes between 15-30 minutes. Result can be seen immediately. Optimal results can be maintained over a long period of time through regular repeated treatments. The procedure varies from person to person depending on your requirements and the severity of the wrinkles that are being treated, in addition to the particular dermal filler being administered.
  • What happens during the treatment?
    Prior to your treatment we remove any make up and cleanse the area to be treated. We use a topical anaesthetic cream on the area which we will inject. The product is placed using a either a needle or a cannula depending on the treatment. Discomfort during the treatment should be minimal.
  • Are dermal fillers safe?
    Yes. We use only products with proven safety record. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a substance which occurs naturally in the cells of the skin, thus there is no risk of allergic reactions.
  • What are the post-care instructions?
    Post treatment we advise against rubbing the area that has been treated and to avoid any beauty treatments such as facial massage, Sauna’s and extreme temperatures for up to 2 weeks after to minimise risk of bruising, swelling and infection.
  • Are there any after-care instructions?
    After your treatment we will again go through with you any after care advice in order to maximise your treatment benefits and avoid any undesirable side effects. You can resume normal activities, drive yourself home or return to work immediately after the treatment. The results directly after the treatment should therefore not be seen as the final results. This is because over the following 2 weeks the results will gradually improve. For 2 weeks after the treatment you are advised to avoid extreme heat (sun bed or sunbathing) or intense cold. No alcohol for 24 hours
